Montgomery Court Coffee on Park Avenue and Colby Street is a relatively newish coffee shop that Rochester didn’t know it needed, but has fully embraced since the shop’s grand opening.
It should be noted that Montgomery Court is no ordinary coffee shop. It is a third-wave coffee shop that serves a bright, medium-brewed roast and espresso made by their brand, Language of Coffee, roasted in Rochester, NY.

As if that wasn’t cool enough, the coffee shop pairs a delightful roast with killer breakfast burritos that bring a Denver twist to the Park Avenue neighborhood. Hatch green chilies are added to their seasonal burrito, which adds a subtle hint of savory spice at every bite. They also have some great NY-style sandwiches like The NYC, a play on a bacon, egg, and cheese that brings just the right vibe to this sandwich-loving city. You can also opt for a sausage, egg, and cheese instead of a B.E.C., but know that the shop adds a touch of garlic aioli, which adds an elevated element of flavor and deviates from the traditional BEC.
More on the coffee shop. You will find that this spot gets flooded with natural light and is accented with lush, thoughtfully placed plants that make you want to stay a long while. It’s equal parts cozy and modern, the kind of place where mornings feel intentional. The art and murals on the walls give the space an artistic, yet antiquated presence. Montgomery Court is a spot that you can stare at the walls every time you visit and still find something new to explore. As for me, I dig the mermaids.
