Rosie Nepalese & Indian Cuisine in Rochester has been one of my favorite go-to restaurants for Nepalese and Indian cuisine in the region since they opened a few years back.

Founded by co-owners, Raju Thapa and Govinda Giri, Rosie Nepalese & Indian Cuisine offers a dynamic journey of savory flavors and meticulous crafted dishes in Rochester, New York at a cozy location inside the Pittsford Plaza.

After moving to Toronto to pursue a career in the culinary world, Chef Raju Thapa began his journey at The Host, a white-linen table service restaurant where he honed his craft for decades and worked his way up to head chef. In 2016, Thapa opened his own restaurant in Toronto called, Amma Roti House, and after making a move to the Rochester region, opened Rosie Nepalese & Indian Cuisine in 2023 which brought an outstanding offering of authentic and traditional South Asian flavors to the city.

Rosie Nepalese & Indian Cuisine is truly a dynamic and vibrant restaurant that is more casual than formal, but a space that showcases Raju’s roots with handmade momo dumplings, tandoori sizzlers, curry entrées, and other deeply aromatic and satisfying dishes. One of my favorite entrées was a vegetarian dish known as Dhingri Masala which was cooked with mushrooms, in a masala gravy with an exquisite blend of delicious spices that gave the masala a bit of savoriness and heat to the taste. If you’re visiting, or looking for a savory and authentic Nepalese and Indian dish, then I highly recommend giving this fantastic eatery a visit.
