Sorry We’re Open: Vibin’ with The Richmond on Richmond
The Richmond by Mortalis Brewing has been a local gem in the East End for years. It is a bar that has endured, even through the pandemic years, when it changed hands a couple of times before the owners of Mortalis purchased the space, renovated it, and elevated the restaurant-bar to the absolute beauty it is today.
The Richmond is a somewhat clandestine space. The bar is located on Richmond Street, the street adjacent to Main Street and namesake for the establishment. Interestingly, it is next door to the elegant, yet similarly clandestine, and reservation-only, “Grace and Disgrace”. And, across from beloved Jamaican restaurants, ‘Kingston Vibez’, and ‘Everything iz Good’.

Everything from craft beer, cocktails, specialty dishes, Neapolitan-style pizzas, and of course, The Richmond’s wings are phenomenal. The space, which was revitalized in the past couple of years, shines light on the historic architecture of the space, with dim lighting to complement the well-crafted masonry of the building.
The craft beer selection features a plethora of double IPAs, and they specialize in extremely juicy sour brews. With flavors like ripe raspberry, blueberry, and mango puree, it’s hard to go wrong with any of their options.

The signature O.G. Richmond Wings with a cup of Blue Cheese
Arguably, the wings cooked up and served are the house staple that has transcended the passage of time here at The Richmond. Crispy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside, these are some of the top wings in the city of Rochester. While the bar has changed over the years, the wings have prevailed and have stayed on the menu.
The Richmond also features a rooftop seating area, which can be enjoyed fully on a sunny, idyllic Rochester day. The hours are fantastic, and they are open every day except Tuesdays. Cheers!
