Blushed Cakery’s Artistic Mini Cakes are Handmade with Love

Fall is approaching, which means that Pumpkin Spice Latte season is here — and if you’re like me, then you’re feeling bittersweet about the seasonal gateway that will bring about winter, but excited for the fall weather.

Visiting Mercury Coffee Co. in the South Wedge in Rochester, NY, I was thrilled to find a few Blushed Cakery mini cakes available for purchase. It was a chill and breezy day, which felt like perfect weather for a Pumpkin Spice Latte in the form of a cake. The PSL cake was moist and soft, reminiscent of a well-made carrot cake, and full of pumpkin flavors like a pumpkin cheesecake. The frosting was rich and creamy, which was complemented by notes of coffee or espresso. A coffee bean was the stem of an artsy pumpkin centerpiece made of frosting, and attached to the side of the flamingo-colored container was a golden fork fastened by a sticker that read, Handmade With Love Especially for You.

For the past couple of months, I’ve followed Blushed Cakery’s Instagram and website, and I have to say I’ve been fascinated since the first time I saw these adorably artistic, specialty cakes. The concept is this: beautifully designed, handcrafted miniature cakes that can be customized to your liking, or made traditional with vanilla or chocolate flavors.

Blushed Cakery’s customizable flavors range from chocolate to strawberry, vanilla, and lemon, and are decorated with floral and vintage designs, and can be topped with fresh fruits, ribbons, and chocolate butterflies. All of which are delightfully crafted and yes, edible.

The artist behind Blushed Cakery, Halle Flan, shares the belief that celebrations and special moments are not complete without a cake. It is with joy that Halle creatively designs her edible art pieces for others to enjoy while celebrating the momentous parts of life.
