A Walk Through the MAG’s ‘Centennial Sculpture Garden’

Entrance to the Memorial Art Gallery’s ‘Centennial Sculpture Garden’

Here’s a quick look at the Memorial Art Gallery’s opening of their ‘Centennial Sculpture Garden’ adjacent to the museum on University Avenue in the Neighborhood of the Arts (NOTA).

Since its opening in 2023, the Centennial Sculpture Garden has brought a renewed sense of enjoyment for an evening stroll and expanded the democratization of arts in the NOTA neighborhood in Rochester, NY.

As a green space, the sculpture garden not only captures Rochester’s unique history of arts and culture but also offers a space for pedestrians to admire natural beauty in the array of flowers and trees, but also artistically crafted sculptures designed by artists from around the nation and world.

It has become a place to metaphorically stop time, touch grass, and inhale a deep breath of fresh air in a busy world. Next time you’re in NOTA be sure to visit the sculpture garden, bring a friend, have a picnic, stretch your mind, and unwind.
